The Fall
An apple is a tempting fruit, its skin
reflects the light;
But minds once sound were struck deaf
and dumb
When innocent mouths did bite.
Or if it were a green and gritty pear
As much the pair did gain in loss.
It set their teeth on edge no less
To taste its pithy dross.
